Set Goals for Your Life

Set Goals for Your Life

We will get more into goals later in this book, but we cannot get past a chapter that speaks of God’s plan for your life without mentioning a little of the goal setting process.
God has had a vision for his people since the beginning. He has instilled that vision into all who will seek him. Goals are imperative for the person who desires to be successful.
It can be said that your legacy can be solidified as well if you delight yourself in God. In other words, seek what he wants for you. Seeking for riches will leave you empty. But seeking God and allowing him to give you the riches will leave you with a legacy.
God’s plan for his children is to prosper. Some believe that God is a man on a throne waiting to strike them down for the first insignificant offense against him. Nothing could be further from the truth. Instead, his grace allows him to bless not only his children, but unbelievers as well.
In Matthew 5:43-45 Jesus said:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and   sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

God’s grace extends to all of his creation. There are certain laws of God that are extended to all. That is not to say that all will go to heaven. It is to say that all have access to heaven if they will but accept God and his grace through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, there are certain secular laws of nature that apply to everyone while we live in this mortal body.
Strangely, even atheists who follow the laws of God on this earth will prosper; even if they do not recognize they are following God’s laws. For example, those who do not murder or steal will not have to suffer the shame of prison. Those who do not cheat on their spouse will most likely not have to suffer divorce because of that sin. Those who honor their mother and father will be blessed because others in the world respect them for it and so on.
Even though the secular world seeks to remove God from their everyday lives, everyday life has been formed by the promises and laws of God. Even though mankind forsakes God, he will not forsake his law or mankind. God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
