Freedom In Christ

Freedom In Christ

The threat of the Christian to the rest of the world is our freedom in Christ. The world realizes that we will never conform to their way of thinking because of the power and freedom we enjoy in Christ Jesus. That power makes believers uncontrollable in the mind of the world. True Christians cannot be persuaded to work on the side of darkness because of the light that in-fills their lives; neither can Christians be convinced that darkness is light and light is darkness.
Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who call evil good      and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter (Isaiah 5:20).”
The above statement is prevalent in America today. Our culture embraces evil and ridicules good. The Bible is plain about homosexuality (Romans 1:26-32). Nevertheless, if one does not agree with homosexuality he or she is called a bigot or a hater.
That is only one example of the times we are living in as a culture. There was a time when one could speak freely about his or her convictions. One still can today, as long as they are what the mainstream wants to hear. However, it is not acceptable to “rock the boat” and share counter views to the culture.
Even so, no matter your situation you are free in Christ. That is not to say that there will not be consequences. It is to say that the Christian must still stand for what Christ has told us to stand for.
