Knowledge is A Gift From God

Knowledge Is Given By God

Knowing God’s will requires knowledge. Whoever wants to know if it is God’s will for them to be healed or to face another given situation must have the knowledge to know what God wants them to do. How are we to pray? How are we to act? Colossians 1:9 says, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Paul is praying for the knowledge of God’s will in the life of the Colossians.” Knowledge is given by God through revelation and his Word.

Knowledge Is a Gift Given By God

1 Corinthians 12:8 says, “To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit . . .” The gift of knowledge is a gift given to those who seek it. Matthew 7:9-11 says that God will give gifts to those who ask. The gift of knowledge might be needed by those who are seeking to do the will of God, but are not sure as to the direction he or she should take. God will reveal it to the one who seeks it.
God’s grace allows us to know God better, to dwell in his power and live the abundant life in Christ Jesus. We have the Power of the Holy Spirit to live the abundant life through the grace of God. Ephesians 1:18-21 says:

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Do you have a need today?

Your need is taken care of through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:9 – 11 says:

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Because of the Spirit of God we have the power to live an overcoming, abundant life in Jesus. We have eternal life in Jesus. Ephesians 1:21-23 says:

. . . far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

In Matthew 28:18 Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me . . . And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Jesus has the authority to give the abundant life John 10:10 proclaims. It is up to us to accept the abundance of the Grace of God and experience the life God has planned for us according to his perfect will.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” God’s grace is sufficient for eternity. It is up to us to rest in his grace and trust him to guide our lives. If we trust him with our salvation shouldn’t all other aspects fall in line as well?
Bathsheba did not succeed in the way God would have wanted her to. Nevertheless, she succeeded. God has a plan for your success as well!
Are you trying to meet your own needs today? God has already met the need for you. He has met that need in his Son, Jesus Christ. No matter what your need is, God wants you to give it over to him. Will it be instantly better? Probably not! But it will be instantly taken care of. It will be God’s problem when you hand it to him. He will take care of the need, but it must be relinquished to him. He will take care of the need in the way that is best suited for you according to his riches in glory.
