American Freedom
True freedom is not that which is guaranteed by the
Constitution of the United States of America. It is the one that is guaranteed
by the Father through His Son. Even though I believe our fore-fathers were
inspired by God to write the Constitution, freedom goes much further than what
can be written on a piece of paper. Freedom is taken into your heart and
inspired by Christ no matter what can be seen in our fleshly lives.
In the name of freedom many give up freedom. God cannot be
separated from the life of any individual. There are those who tout separation
of church and state without the faintest idea of what was written in the
Constitution. It is merely a ploy for Satan to separate weak willed individuals
from the Word of God.
The first Amendment states nothing about separating the
church from the state in the way that is purported in today’s world. The
Constitution has been distorted so that men and women of power can use it for
their own purposes and agendas.
The First Amendment states:
Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging
the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
There is nothing in
the above amendment that should give anyone the indication that God should be
removed from the government. Quite the contrary, it would seem that the
fore-fathers were trying to ensure God would always be honored in America.
Nevertheless, some have distorted what the First Amendment states and have
convinced an ignorant America that there must be a separation of church and
state.
If people were to read the history books instead of changing
them to what they want them to say, they would see that the fore-fathers wanted
to ensure that neither the church nor the government could be controlled by the
other. America would be governed by the people and not the church or the state.
Each person would decide which god they would follow in the service of their
country. It is perfectly fine to follow any god, however, I believe the one
True God is the one the forefathers referred to when writing and speaking about
God.
Even though the world would have you believe otherwise,
America was founded on Judeo-Christian values. The laws of our land and most of
the rest of the world are based on the Ten Commandments.
If the Constitution of the United States were abolished
tomorrow, how would that affect your freedom? Obviously, it would most likely
affect the way you live your life. Nevertheless, it would not affect the true
freedom you enjoy in Christ.
Satan tries to remove the freedoms we have in Christ by
using the Word of God against us just like he did to Jesus in the desert (Matt
4:1). However, his ploy is only a façade for those who wish to be out from
under the “yoke” of God.
The freedoms we have in Christ are never removed. If you are
a believer, they are merely masked by the evil one. If you allow Satan to take
control of your life it may appear as though you have freedom. In fact, it can
be said that if you continually walk in the darkness of the evil one, you
should check your salvation. Do you really believe the promises of Jesus? If
so, accept His freedom to allow you to live the abundant life of John 10:10 and
allow God to fashion your steps.
If you allow your circumstances to predict and dictate the
freedom you have you will walk in defeat. However, if you recognize that, “I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me. . . (Phil 4:13),” you will live victorious and be
able to walk through all situations.
The freedoms we have in Christ can be detached by the evil
one only if we do not embrace the freedom allowed to us in Christ. Satan has
been allowed, by those who have not accepted the freedom of Jesus, to steal the
true freedom and give the illusion of a freedom that will eventually lead to
misery that cannot be overcome. Satan convinces those who would not want to accept
the entire truth that they can live in sin and still have Jesus as their Lord
and Savior. This cannot be!
1 John 1:5-7 says:
This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to
you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have
fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the
truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
